Recently graduated from the Data Analytics Immersion program at Thinkful. This course has helped me become proficient in the following programs: Excel/Python/Tableau/SQL/PostgreSQL/PowerPoint. In addition, I have learned to wrangle and analyze datasets, identify Key Performance Indicators, build analytical and strategic dashboards, and tell stories with the data. Check out my work.

8.26.2020 Research DWPP Case Outcomes from data scraped into Excel from whistlblower.gov website. Pull the resulting 11 .csv files into Google Colab using Python and organize into 3 Pandas dataframes. Research the outcomes by group comparisons and statistical testing for correlations. Present findings in PowerPoint.

Data Analyst with Excel/Tableau/SQL/PostgreSQL/Python experience. Trained in acquiring, cleaning, analyzing and presenting data for a variety of audiences and business uses. Specialized in identifying and comparing current key performance measurements to past performance, industry standards and company goals. Enjoy building business models, dashboards, visualizations, live presentations and testing hypotheses with statistics calculations. I am Leah Spencer (pronounced LAYA), a creative, innovative soul re-entering the technical career domain after time spent in Marketing, Music, Natural Health and raising children. My technical experience goes all the way back the beginning of personal computers. In my 8th grade class I was usually ahead of my peers and somewhat disruptive as a result. This led the teacher to direct me to play with floppy disks and explore this new human tool. In the mid-90's, I had a front-row seat for the launching of 3D modeling technology, being animated on the first blue screen in the US in a San Francisco basement! In social media, I have been on the front lines, participating since AOL, creating and organizing poets (like myself) from all over the world, to share and play collaborative writing games in poetry rooms. I joined Facebook in 2007 and have grown my personal network and my fan-page following extensively using only organic growth factors. I developed other technical skills on the job, working for a variety of companies and industries for a decade, before deciding to run my own business in natural health, allowing more time with my young children. After this period, I decided to travel and explore the US as a musician and multi-faceted gig worker. This gave me quite a healthy dose of common sense and problem-solving ability, plus a well-rounded perspective of many types of human experience. In recent years, I spent time overcoming fears around social situations with a career in marketing, representing companies in Chambers of Commerce and Real Estate Associations. Along the way, I developed strong presentation and networking skills. In 2020, I decided to upgrade my technical abilities to meet the current demands, taking an intensive program specializing in all the key components of becoming an effective Data Analytics Professional. If you are looking for a team player, who loves to collaborate, and can be counted on to pull their weight, you have found her. Innovative and thorough, a winning combination. I simply love making a difference with impactful insights and developing actionable strategies.
